WHAT IS A CHILD ADVOCACY PROGRAM?

Child advocacy can be viewed as..

assisting children and youth in finding their own power from within and teaching them to use it effectively. The primary goal of child advocacy is to elevate the voice of youth. As an African proverb states: " don't speak about us, without us", meaning that speaking together with youth about youth is the standard.

Child Welfare: About

CHILD ADVOCACY SERVICES

Each year more than 10 million children witness domestic violence. Even though parents believe they can hide the violence, research suggests that 80-90% of these children are aware of the violence. Children that have witnessed violence are more likely to attempt suicide, abuse, drugs, alcohol, and/or run away from home.
